Where is the Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel Located?

Why is it called Sugarloaf?
The shape of the mountain reminded early hunters & pioneers of the sugar loaves common in those days.
A swiss explorer sketched the mountain in 1707.
What is the elevation of Sugarloaf Mountain?
4237 ft.
Sugarloaf is the 2nd tallest mountain in Maine
What can I see from the peak of Sugarloaf?
On a clear day, visitors can see New Hampshire, Vermont, and Canada from the peak of Sugarloaf

What are the distances to Sugarloaf?
from Boston airport (Logan Int’l) - 250 mi/ 402 km – (4 hrs.)
from Manchester NH Airport – 206 mi/147km
from Portland Jetport- 127 mi/ 204 km (2.5 hrs.)
from NYC - 446 mi/ 718 km (10 hrs.)
To the office / Bangor – 73 mi/ 117km (about 2 hrs.)
To Bar Harbor – 156 mi / 256 km (4.25 hrs.)
To Freeport - 116 mi / 186 km (2 hrs.)

Coburn Gore is basically a 2-lane border crossing with a gas station and nearby lumber company.
Hours of operation – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.Jackman, ME - Heavily used border crossing with a substantial number of lumber trucks because of its extended hours of operation.
These are the only two border crossings between Maine and Quebec that are open 24 hours a day.
The part of Rt. 201 between central Maine and Quebec is considered by some to be one of the most beautiful areas in the northeast. The area is remote, and the terrain is mountainous and heavily wooded.
Are there Shuttles from airport and off resort?
There really are NO shuttles from airports to Sugarloaf. Private transportation could be arranged, but would be very costly.
If flying into an airport, consider renting a car. Most major car rentals are available at the Portland Jetport and Logan Airport (Boston)
What is the hotel layout?
1st floor is the main lobby, check in, 45 North Restaurant and Bar, etc.
2nd Floor includes meeting spaces, sales rooms, and guest rooms
3rd & 4th floor are all guest rooms.
Condo units are spread out over several 'neighborhoods' on the mountain (see our Resort Map page for a visual layout!)
Next door to the hotel is the Base Lodge where you will find Registration, Meetings, Hospitality, Activities, and the Banquet room.
Behind the main resort is the 'Ski Village' and 'The Beach', which features a handful of restaurants, shops, a hot tub, and an outdoor seating area & firepit where activities will be held throughout the week
Is there cell & internet service at Sugarloaf?
There is free wifi service at the Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel. Cell service can be spotty and depends on your carrier

What if I break down or have an accident enroute?
Contact a member of the Board of Governors for help from the 'Special Fund'. We will be providing a list of motorcycle dealers in the Northeast soon
Will there be a shuttle bus on the mountain?
A shuttle (school bus) will run on the resort - condos to hotel - during hospitality hours each evening.
We are looking into an 'on-demand' style van as well for throughout the day
Where is the closest Walmart?
Farmington- 43 miles (~1hr)
Skowhegan- 48 miles (~1.1hr)
Where's the closest gas station and grocery store?
There is a small grocery store at the bottom of the mountain access road that has all kinds of groceries (including steaks!), beer, liquor, AND is a gas station.
Where's the nearest campsite?
Fully self-contained RV's can reserve a spot in an RV parking area on the Mountain. $25/night for motorhome, $50/night for Tow Vehicle & Camper.
Please note there is NO sewer/water/electric.

Will I be able to get oil changes/pin striping/sewing done?
We will be working to get onsite vendors but we have no promises yet. We will have a bike wash area and are hoping for oil changes!
Is there a rain date for the Motorcycle Competitions?
